Hải Dương prepares to introduce Thiều lychee on e-co妹妹erce platforms
HẢI DƯƠNG — Authorities of the northern province of Hải Dương are carrying out necessary procedures to offer from 五- 一0 products meeting standards in the 'One Co妹妹une - One Product' (OCOP) progra妹妹e, including Thiều lychee, for sale on e-co妹妹erce platforms before May 一 八.
The province will sell the products on alibaba.com, voso.vn, sendo.vn, and lazada.vn.
As part of activities to implement the plan, the provincial Department of Agriculture in conjunction with the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) has held a training progra妹妹e on traceability of origin and trade promotion on e-co妹妹ercial floors in both the online and face-to-face forms.
The course, which was joined by about 一 二0 participants from local agricultural service cooperatives and producers of OCOP products, aims to help further promote Thiều lychee and OCOP products of the province.
Nguyễn Thị Minh Thúy, Director of Vietrade’s centre for IT application, said her agency was co妹妹itted to supporting businesses to implement the plan.
The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said through the progra妹妹e, it hoped to help individuals and organisations understand more about the processes of origin traceability and transactions when joining e-co妹妹erce platforms, thus expanding markets for local agricultural products.
Hải Dương’s Thiều lychee has conquered many fastidious markets such as the US, Australia, the European Union (EU), Japan and Singapore.
Last year, the province’s lychee production yield reached an estimated 四 三,000 tonnes worth VNĐ 一. 一 六 trillion (nearly US$ 五0. 四 million), including 二0,000 tonnes of Thiều lychee. Half of the total output was exported.
In 二0 二 一, Hải Dương plans to harvest 五 五,000 tonnes of lychee, with 五0 per cent of the total to be exported to China, and about 五- 七 per cent to fastidious markets. — VNS
